Royal Gala

grown, harvested & packed by Mt Erin

The Royal Gala is one of the world’s most consumed apples. It is a variety that was born and bred in New Zealand in the 1930s and is the second most grown apple in the country. It is called the Royal Gala because it is a high red variation of the Gala. It is a popular apple around the world and at Mt Erin, we grow many of them!

The Royal Gala variety is sweet and juicy apple with firm white flesh. It has a distinctive crunch when you bite it. It is best for eating as a healthy snack or dessert. It has a relatively compact size which makes it easy to hold and take with you when you eat meals out of home. The Royal Gala is also good for fruit salad, cooking and making juice.
